Funding to operate Young
Women’s Place
Inc. comes from various bodies. One and a half staff positions come from Department of Communities
who administer the Supported Accommodation Assistance Program
(SAAP). These positions are the Coordinator and a .5 Youth
Worker and 15 hrs / week Administration Officer. Queensland Health funds the full time Youth Health Worker. The
Midwife position is funded through Toowoomba Health Services
and the midwife is actually their employee but stationed
at Young Women’s
place and very much a part of our team. Our premises
are owned by Dept Public Works and Housing under the
Crisis Accommodation Program (CAP) and are attached
as an integral part of our SAAP funding. This funding
normally provides shelters and refuges for homeless
people.
